Closure of all YMCA Recreation and Aquatic Facilities
The situation around coronavirus (COVID-19) is rapidly evolving. We are working on advice from the Northern Territory Government, in association with the Chief Medical Officer and the Department of Health to understand how the YMCA of the NT can support all measures to protect the health of our team, our patrons and our communities.
As directed, to reduce the spread of COVID-19, in conjunction with our contract partners, we are temporarily closing YMCA of the Northern Territory Recreation and Aquatic Facilities.
All YMCA NT Recreation and Aquatic Facilities will be temporarily closed from close of business Wednesday 25 March until further notice. All programs and services will cease during the closure period.
Our senior bowls program
On Thursday mornings, our Drop in Centre is the home of our Senior Bowls Family. They come over to play bowls, but it's not just about the game, it's a way of building strong and trusted relationships with others. A web of laughter and support connects the participants.
Outings and events
Some of our members have been with us for over 20 years, and they have proven to be an essential element of our community services. We also organise outings and activities designed specifically for seniors, coordinated with YMCA workers that accompany them to lunches at the water front, bowling and health and fitness classes, and celebrations such as Easter and Christmas.
We do welcome new participants to our seniors program, please do not hesitate to get in touch with us.
